OUGD504 - Design for Screen - Finalised Concept

After receiving feedback from the crit, one on one discussions and the Questionnaire I've gathered all the main requirements that are needed to make finding student housing fun, easy and stress free.

Requirements for my design solution are:
  • Website Format: Easier to navigate and see lots of content at once - faster, larger images - larger platform to search on - larger screen to view each house -  'when looking for houses I want to see big pictures without having to zoom in' - larger screen makes it more organised when filling in forms - looking for a house needs a lot of attention to detail and looking on a small screen will make this harder.
Website will include:
  • Weekly price per person of house with bills and price without next to it
  • Shows how many people have favourited the house / had a viewing
  • Honest Rating Systems for landlords and houses - similar to unipol
  • Clearer search options / filters / Option to do advanced search eg. microwave
  • Use photos that are true to reality
  • All houses from different letting agents in one place
  • Show when a house was put on the market
  • Show how many viewings it has had / how popular it has been
  • Make navigation easier
  • Save / bookmark houses
  • Make it easier to share links to your housemates
  • Clearly state the prices
  • Have honest reviews / ratings from previous tenants on the house / agency / landlords eg. questionnaire you have to fill in after the tenancy runs out. Similar to depop.
  • Option to contact landlord / Agency easily.
  • Map of location
Focus on the experience of the website making it not only clear but fun, modern and evoke a sense of trust.

Some features that would improve the layout would be to get rid of distracting clutter and have the search options available to alter in any point of the site.

The opening home page would be a list of filters you had to complete before progressing to the next page or a few icons at the top where you could log in to see your saved searches.
