OUGD505 - Studio Brief 02 - Colour theory

The colours I used s the entirety of the project were:

In terms of colour theory these particular colours help create the tone of voice I want the lending library to exude:

“Green is the colour of nature. It symbolize growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety. It is the most restful colour for the human eye; it can improve vision. Green suggests stability and endurance. In heraldry, green indicates growth and hope. Green, as opposed to red, means safety; it is the colour of free passage in road traffic.” – Green Attributes: Ambition: Growth, Nature, Optimism, Spring, Relaxation, Youth, Luck, Environment, Healing and Wealth.

“Turquoise {or teal} presents as a friendly and happy colour enjoying life. In colour psychology, the color turquoise controls and heals the emotions creating emotional balance and stability. In the process it can appear to be on an emotional roller coaster, up and down, until it balances itself. Turquoise heightens levels of creativity and sensitivity.” Teal Attributes: Clarity, Idealism, Balance, Creativity, Compassion, Self-Sufficiency.
