Study Task 02 - Design Principles - Colour Theory Continued

Experimenting with colour research by exploring the use of colours that warp the effect of other colours when used in correlation with each other.

For the task we had to choose the worst colour we could think of then use it along side black and another colour to alter the effect it had on the viewer.

This colour scheme had to work effectively as a children's book.

My least favourite colour was Pantone code #ac8779. I chose the colour #ffa8bc to be used with it as it slightly warms the colour from a sludgy brown to a delicate milk chocolate shade.

I just quickly played around in illustrator with the colours to create a simple vector drawing that could be used as a character for a children's book.

I thought the colours were friendly, inviting and also reminiscent of neapolitan ice-cream.
